24. Rynek przed wejściem do muzeum/ Rynek in front of the Museum’s entrance

Maria’s Cunitz bench. She was an astronomer comming from Swidnica. The author of the bench is Stanisław Strzyżyński. The bench was unveiled on 31 March 2009. The effigy of the woman looking at the sky is holding an astrolabe in her hands and also her biggest work „Urania propitia” with a copy of the actual signature.


25. Rynek 1/ Franciszkańska

The baroque figure of the Mother of God with her infant stepping on a snake’s head, located on a high pedestal. Madonna is presented in the Immaculata type.


26. Grodzka 2

The Hermes figure is towering above the town’s square on the copula of the Art Nouveau tenement house. According to the Greek mythology, Hermes is the patron of merchants, travellers and thieves. His attributes are: a caduceus and a hat with wings.


27. Grodzka 16/18

Baroque elements of the tenement house’s decor are well preserved in the richly decorated balcony portal supported by diagonal columns and pilasters. The whole is decorated with the relief with pincerlike- ribbon motives.


28. Grodzka 7

The renaissance portal is a remnant of the bulldozed tenement house, erected in 1551 by the Mayor of Swidnica. The portal is flanked by the low relief torsos of Erasmus Freund and his wife.

On the both sides of the 16th century portal two lions’ silhouettes are pictured. The lions are symbolic guardians of the house. The animals support flat ciboriums above the bottoming niches.


3. Łukowa 1/ Rynek

The gothic relief on the cantalever embed in the quoin of the tenement house. It depicts the fight of Samson and the lion. Samosn is helepd in the fight by the dog, the symbol of faithfulness.


30. Grodzka 14

-The waving line of the railing in the central part is cut in with a relief-decorted pillar. The straight cartouche surrounds the image of the goddess Demeter. The goddess is depicted with a grasshook and a grain sheaf- symbols of fertility and abundance. -Richly profiled fronton enwreathe the decorations in the form of cartouches with painted plaquettes placed above windows. On the plate of the central axis of the tenement house the initial letters E.N. are pictured. On the edge cartouche pairs there is the date 1737 placed.


31. Grodzka 15 – ZETO

Five pilasters on the facade are ended with figures of young boys with symbolic meaning attributes. The boy carrying a child on his arm is an allegory of the art, the one with a bunch of plants and fruit is an allegory of agriculture, the character with a caduceus is an allegory of trade, the one with a hammer is an allegory of work and the boy with a gear is an allegory of progress.


32. Grodzka 15 – ZETO

In the decoration of the pilasters on the tenement house built in 1912 the well-known motives were used, like: campanulas, palmettes. The lax juxtaposition of the ornaments gave the individual character to the pilasters.


33. ul. Zamkowa

The stony crest of von Nostritz family- the last owners of the ducal castle in Swidnica. In 1682 next to the monastic buildings the Capuchins erected a church on the castle foundations. They placed the crest of their donors above the entrance.


34. ul. Muzealna

The renaissance portal comming from the Piast castle in Swidnica. On the sandstone portal the date 1537 is egngraved and the crest of Frederick Habsburg I is placed there in the background of the black eagle. On the frieze there is the full titular description of the ruler.
